How To Prepare Your Home Before Our Arrival (Carpet, Upholstery, Tile)

A little preparation for you home goes a long way. To help us deliver the best possible results on your carpets, furniture, and tile, here's everything you need to know before your appointment.
1. Pre-Vacuum Your Carpets and Furniture
Vacuuming your carpets, furniture, and tile before we arrive makes a noticeable difference in your final results. It helps loosen surface debris, which lets our cleaning process work more effectively on the deeper, embedded dirt.
2. Furniture Moving
Due to insurance liability, we're unable to move oversized furniture such as beds, couches, or dressers. We're happy to move lighter items that one person can lift, like coffee tables, nightstands, and small lamps. For anything we can't move, we'll do our best to clean carefully around and under it.
3. Pet Stain Treatment
If your carpets have pet urine, fecal spots, or excessive pet hair, we recommend our Pet Stain Treatment for the affected areas. This is an add-on service with a cost based on the number of stains or areas treated, and it's entirely optional — the decision is yours.
If you suspect urine stains anywhere in your home, just let our technician know. We'll perform a complimentary blacklight UV inspection to confirm the extent of the issue and recommend the best approach.
4. Avoid Household Chemicals Beforehand
If pet stains or other spots have already been treated with household cleaning products, there's a chance the stain has set permanently into the carpet fibers — or, in some cases, damaged them and caused irreversible color loss. Once this happens, even our specialized solutions may not be able to fully correct it, so we recommend letting us assess the area first.
5. High-Traffic Areas
We always do our best to restore carpet fibers in high-traffic areas, but results can vary depending on the carpet's age, wear, quality, and cleaning history. While we aim for the best possible outcome, we can't guarantee a 100% like-new appearance in heavily worn spots.
6. Parking
Please have your driveway clear with at least one parking spot available for our work van — ideally the spot closest to your main door, since our hoses run from the van into your home.
If you live in a condo or townhouse with a street-facing main entrance, please arrange to have a parking spot saved the day before your appointment so we have somewhere to park on arrival.
7. Weather Conditions
We do everything we can to keep our schedule as planned. That said, Edmonton winters can occasionally interfere — if extreme cold puts our water hose at risk of freezing or could damage our equipment, we may need to reschedule for everyone's safety.
8. Apartment Cleaning
For apartments on the second floor or higher, we use portable cleaning equipment to complete the service. An operational elevator is required — without elevator access, we're unable to perform the cleaning.
9. Wastewater Disposal Fee
A $20 wastewater disposal fee is applied to the final invoice for every appointment.
10. Arrival Windows
To provide the best possible service, only our first appointment of the day can be scheduled with an exact arrival time. For all other appointments, we provide an estimated arrival window, since the length of each job can vary depending on the size and condition of the property.
Our typical arrival windows are:
Second appointment: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Third appointment: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Your specific window will be based on what was discussed and agreed upon when booking. As a courtesy, we'll always send a text message about an hour before we arrive.
11. Payment
Payment in full is required before work begins for vacant properties, and upon completion of the cleaning when the client is present.
